Pharmacological screening of neuronally active substances is effected by producing second lesion by non-lesion experimental animals by injection in the medial septum of the animal of an amount of vincristine effected by the purpose and administering the substances to be tested by the lesioned animals according to a suitably selected schedule. The effects of the treatment are assessed by evaluation morphological changes, biochemical observation or behavioural observation.
