The invention concerns in particular a method for estimating the angular dispersion of a signal transmitted by a transmitter and received by a receiver, consisting in estimating the angular dispersion solely from the observation of an information (VARZ, VARX) representing, over at least a given time interval, a variable related only to the amplitude or power values of the signals received by each antenna element (200 to 20M-1) of an antenna array (100) provided in the receiver.
