The present invention is directed to compositions including an amine--containing compound selected from Formula 1 and Formula II (see formula I) (see formula II) wherein R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 independently are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl, and C1-C6 hydroxyalkyl; or a cosmetically-acceptable salt thereof; and a sensation-blocking agent, where the compositions provide an analgesic effect to the skin when applied to an area of skin exhibiting at least one symptom of itch, pain, stinging, burning sensations, or the like.
