The present invention relates to isolated liver progenitor stem cells, and cell population thereof, wherein said progenitor stem cells originate from adult liver, esp. of human. The present invention also relates to the use of said isolated progenitor stem cells in medicine, hepatology, inborn errors of liver metabolism, transplantation, infectious diseases, liver failure. The present invention also relates to methods of isolating these cells, their culture, characterization before and after differentiation, and their use for transplantation, animal models of human disease, toxicology and pharmacology.
La présente invention a pour objet des cellules souches progénitrices hépatiques isolées, et une population cellulaire qui en est issue, lesdites cellules souches progénitrices provenant d'un foie d'adulte, en particulier d'un être humain. La présente invention concerne aussi l'utilisation desdites cellules souches progénitrices isolées en médecine, en hépatologie, dans des cas d'erreurs innées du métabolisme hépatique, de transplantation, de maladies infectieuses, d'insuffisance hépatique. La présente invention concerne aussi des méthodes pour isoler ces cellules, leur culture, leur caractérisation avant et après différenciation, et leur utilisation pour une transplantation, pour des modèles animaux d'une maladie humaine, en toxicologie et en pharmacologie.
