Specifically, the invention discloses nucleic acid molecules comprising or encoding a sequence that modulates the stability of a transcript from a vascular endothelial growth factor gene, as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing such molecules, which are useful for modulating angiogenesis or vascularization, especially in methods for treating ischemic conditions.
