The present invention relates to an apparatus in the field of power transmission, which apparatus comprises a superconducting component or another component (3) to be cooled, in a cryostat (1). A vacuum switch (6) is provided in order to prevent heat being introduced into the cryostat (1) by means of thermal conduction through the electricity cable (4) of the component (3) in the event of an electricity failure. This vacuum switch (6) is integrated in a bushing (5) in the electricity cable (4), so that its vacuum completes the thermal insulation of the cryostat (1).
