The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of mineral wool plant growth substrate having a coherent hydrophilic matrix of mineral wool fibres connected by cured binder, comprising the steps of: i) providing mineral wool fibres; ii) applying to the mineral wool fibres as a binder a phenol-formaldehyde resin and a furan resin; iii) forming a matrix of the mineral wool fibres; and iv) curing the binder and to the obtainable mineral wool plant growth substrate.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de fabrication d'un substrat en laine minérale pour la croissance de végétaux qui comporte une matrice hydrophile cohérente de fibres de laine minérale liées par un liant réticulé. Ledit procédé consiste (i) à utiliser des fibres de laine minérale, (ii) à appliquer sur les fibres de laine minérale un liant qui est composé d'une résine phénol-formaldéhyde et d'une résine furannique, (iii) à former une matrice de fibres de laine minérale et (iv) à réticuler le liant. L'invention se rapporte également au substrat en laine minérale ainsi obtenu et destiné à la croissance de végétaux.
