The invention relates to an polyalkyleneglycol ether methacrylic ester/ethylene copolymer comprising the following monomer units: (I) 99-50% by weight ethylene; (ii) 1-50% by weight of a monomer of formula I CH2=C(R1)-COO-[CmH2m-O]n-H (I) wherein R1 is H or CH3; m is an integer between 2 and 4; n is a real number between 2 and 25; and (iii) 0-20% by weight of another monomer; the said copolymer having an average molecular weight of between 5,000 and 65,000. The invention relates to a breathable film obtained from this copolymer.

L'invention a pour objet un copolymère éthylène/ester (méth)acrylique de polyalkylèneglycol(éther) comprenant les motifs monomères suivants: (i) de 99 à 50 % en poids d'éthylène; (ii) de 1 à 50 % en poids d'un monomère de formule I CH2=C(R1)-COO-[CmH2m-O]n-H (I) dans laquelle R1 est H ou CH3; m est un entier qui vaut 2, 3 ou 4; n est un réel compris entre 2 et 25; et (iii) de 0 à 20 % en poids d'un tiers monomère; ledit copolymère présentant un poids moléculaire moyen compris entre 5 000 et 65 000. L'invention a encore pour objet un film imperrespirant obtenu à partir de ce copolymère.
