ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Scaffolding couplers (19, 30, 33, 33') for coupling together two scaffolding tubes (2) include a coupling element (20, 30a, 34, 34') for engaging a scaffolding tube (2), the coupling element (20, 30a, 34, 34') comprising a central region (23, 31a, 35, 35') which lies between first (24, 24') and second (25, 25') connecting regions of the coupling element (20, 30a, 34, 34'). The connecting regions (24, 24', 25, 25') are adapted for connecting the coupling element to another component, that is a flap 21, of the coupler, each of the connecting regions (24, 24', 25, 25') having a pair of substantially planar supporting portions (26) connected to said central region (23, 31a, 35, 35') by means of a further portion (27) of the connecting region (24, 24', 25, 25') which extends between them and projects outwardly from the said central region (23, 31a, 35, 35'). The said supporting portions (26) of each connecting region (24, 24', 25, 25') project approximately perpendicularly to at least part of said further portion (27) to provide respective supporting edges for contacting said scaffolding tube and extend beyond a boundary of the said further portion (27) which is remote from the said central region (23, 31a, 35, 35') so as to form the walls of a slot (28). The ends of the walls are formed, on respective edges thereof opposed to said supporting edges, with respective hook- like retaining projections (29a, 29b), the said slot (28) and the said retaining projections (29a, 29b) being for use in connecting the coupling element (20, 30a, 34, 34') to the flap 21. Such couplers can be stronger, and easier to manufacture, than some prior art couplers.
