The invention relates to control of transmission power in cellular networks, specifically in cells having transmitters in several frequency bands. The invention allows the network to control the maximum transmission power of a mobile station in more than one frequency band. Parameters indicating maximum output power level of the mobile station in each frequency band are transmitted to the mobile station. The power levels in each frequency band are determined based on the received parameters and predetermined offsets that relate the powers between different frequency bands.

L'invention concerne une commande de puissance d'émission dans des réseaux cellulaires, notamment dans des cellules présentant des émetteurs dans plusieurs bandes de fréquence. Le procédé de l'invention permet au réseau de réguler la puissance d'émission maximale d'une station mobile dans plus d'une bande de fréquence. Des paramètres indiquant le niveau de puissance de sortie maximale de la station mobile dans chaque bande de fréquence sont transmis à la station mobile. Les niveaux de puissance dans chaque bande de fréquence sont déterminés sur la base des paramètres reçus et de décalages préétablis qui rapportent les puissances entre différentes bandes de fréquence.
