The inventive method and apparatus serve to combine into groups different printed products supplied as continuous flows (1, 2, 3 etc.), on at least one grouping section (10.1/2/3), in which each group can have a composition of in each case one product from different supply flows corresponding to a predetermined group sequence. The production of faulty groups is prevented, in that in the supplies errors are detected at an early stage, so that groups affected by an error, are not formed in the predetermined cycle and are instead displaced by one cycle. The group flow leaving the method consequently contains only gaps and not faulty groups. For performing the method between the supplies (63.4/5) of products and the grouping (10.1/2) are introduced a supply control, a supply buffer storage and a controlled delivery. The means (64.2/3/4 etc.) for performing these three method stages are constituted by conveyors with cams or drivers, which are interconnected with a drag connection and which are moved by two substantially independently controlled drives on a continuous guide. The drivers are controlled following an acceptance point at which they have accepted a product from the supply unit (63.4/5) and faulty products are recorded. They then pass into a buffer storage space and leave the latter through a controlled delivery point, where they deliver the product into the grouping.
Le procédé et le dispositif selon cette invention servent à regrouper différents produits imprimés présentés en continu (1, 2, 3, etc.) sur au moins une section d'assemblage (10.1/2/3), chaque groupe étant composé d'un exemplaire de produit de chacune des différentes chaînes d'alimentation, les produits étant placés selon une séquence déterminée. La production de groupes défectueux ne risque pas de se produire, du fait que les erreurs dans les chaînes d'alimentation sont décelées au début du processus, de sorte que les groupes qui seraient touchés ne sont pas formés mais sautés. Ainsi, la production sortant en fin de ligne peut présenter des espaces vides, mais non des groupes défectueux. Les étapes se déroulant entre l'alimentation en produits imprimés (63,4/5) et leur assemblage (10.1/2) supposent une commande d'alimentation, un stockage régularisateur et une distribution contrôlée. Le dispositif (64.2/3/4 etc.) assurant ces fonctions est matérialisé par des transporteurs à cames ou mécanismes d'entraînement reliés entre eux et mûs sur un dispositif de guidage continu par deux dispositifs d'entraînement à commande indépendante. Un contrôle s'effectue passé le point d'alimentation (63.4/5) où, le cas échéant, les produits défectueux sont repérés. Les produits passent ensuite dans un espace de stockage régularisateur, qu'ils quittent en passant par un point soumis à un autre contrôle avant d'être mis en groupes.
