The present invention discloses an integrated sampling and testing device for sampling and testing blood from a human finger which comprises clamping means for temporarily clamping a finger below the tip of said finger, a lancet for piercing said finger tip while said finger is held by said clamping means testing means for performing at least one test on blood drawn from said finger, wherein said testing means is aligned with said lancet such that blood drawn from said finger immediately contacts said testing means after being drawn. A method for sampling and testing human blood from a fingertip comprises the steps of: providing an integrated sampling and testing device for sampling and testing blood from a human finger, opening radially-expandable clamping member and inserting a finger therein, closing said radially-expandable clamping member around said finger such that pressure is applied to said finger so as to create a region of increased blood volume and/or pressure at the tip of said finger, piercing said finger using said lancet, ensuring that sufficient blood has been drawn and, subsequently, opening said radially-expandable clamping member so to allow removal of finger, optionally, transferring at least one reagent to said test strip using said reagent transferring means, and waiting and viewing test results.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif intégré d'échantillonnage et de test pour échantillonner et tester du sang provenant d'un doigt humain, lequel dispositif comprend des moyens de serrage pour serrer temporairement un doigt en dessous du bout dudit doigt, une lancette pour percer ledit bout de doigt tandis que ledit doigt est maintenu par lesdits moyens de serrage, des moyens de test pour effectuer au moins un test sur le sang extrait dudit doigt, lesdits moyens de test étant alignés avec ladite lancette de telle sorte que le sang extrait dudit doigt entre immédiatement en contact avec lesdits moyens de test après avoir été extrait. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'échantillonnage et de test de sang humain provenant d'un bout de doigt, lequel procédé comprend les étapes consistant à se procurer un dispositif intégré d'échantillonnage et de test pour échantillonner et tester du sang provenant d'un doigt humain, ouvrir un élément de serrage radialement extensible et introduire un doigt dans celui-ci, fermer ledit élément de serrage radialement extensible autour dudit doigt de telle sorte qu'une pression est appliquée audit doigt de façon à créer une région de volume sanguin accru et/ou une pression au bout dudit doigt, percer ledit doigt à l'aide de ladite lancette, s'assurer que suffisamment de sang a été extrait et, ultérieurement, ouvrir ledit élément de serrage radialement extensible de façon à permettre le retrait du doigt, facultativement, transférer au moins un réactif à ladite bandelette réactive à l'aide desdits moyens de transfert de réactif, et attendre et observer les résultats de test.
