A method and apparatus for controlling transmission power levels in a CDMA cellular communication system are disclosed, whereby a third (middle) control loop (30) is interposed between an inner loop (40) and an outer loop (20) to form a cascaded power control loop (10). Certain quality indicators are coupled to the outer loop (20) and middle loop (30). The outer loop (20) produces a quality target value for the middle loop (30). The middle loop (30) produces the SIR target value.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de régulation des niveaux de puissance d'émission dans un système de communications mobiles AMRC. En l'occurrence, on a intercalé une troisième boucle (intermédiaire) de régulation (30) entre une boucle intérieure (40) et une boucle extérieure (20) de façon à réaliser une boucle de régulation de puissance en cascade (10). Certains indicateurs de qualité sont couplés à la boucle extérieure (20) et à la boucle intermédiaire (30). La boucle extérieure (20) produit une valeur cible de qualité destinée à la boucle intermédiaire (30) qui produit la valeur cible du rapport SIR (rapport signal-sur-interférence).
