The invention relates to a method for storing a fuel cell, that comprises a first phase of calibrating a reference membrane by nuclear magnetic resonance in order to obtain an evolution curve of the maximal water load (.lambda. max(T)) of the fuel cell membrane based on the temperature of the membrane (3), and a second step of calibrating a standard cell in order to obtain a relation between the electric resistance of the standard cell, the water load (.lambda.) of the its membrane and its temperature (T). The method further comprises a drying phase that depends on the two calibration phases.

Le procédé de stockage d'une pile à combustible comporte une première phase d'étalonnage d'une membrane de référence, par résonance magnétique nucléaire, pour obtenir une courbe d'évolution de la charge en eau maximale (?max(T)) de la membrane de la pile à combustible en fonction de la température de la membrane (3), et une deuxième phase d'étalonnage d'une pile étalon, pour obtenir une relation entre la résistance électrique de la pile étalon, la charge en eau (?) de sa membrane et sa température (T). Le procédé comporte ensuite une phase d'assèchement dépendante des deux phases d'étalonnage.
