A mouse cleaning apparatus is used to remove accumulated dirt from the internal rollers and tracking ball of a mechanical transducer known as a "mouse" commonly employed in modern computer systems. A small DC motor together with its switched power source are housed in a palm-sized plastic case. The motor axle extends beyond the case through the axis of a plastic sphere. A gently abrasive material is attached to the circumference of the sphere such that it covers the sphere areas in contact with the rollers. During operation, the plastic sphere is inserted into the mouse housing in place of the tracking ball. Switched on, it results in gentle spinning and cleaning of the mouse rollers. A concave external surface of the apparatus, also covered with gently abrasive material, may be used to clean the mouse ball.
