ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An elongated injection molding probe having a central electrical heating element. The heating element is bent back upon itself a number of times to provide it with a number of longitudinal sections having different numbers of multiple runs of the heating element. This provides a varying heat profile along the length of the probe to compensate for different amounts of heat loss. The probe has a threaded bore at its rear end to facilitate removal from the mold.
