To ensure a performance-based regulation of a fuel cell, the use of fuel- mixtures with a defined flow is required. According to the invention, to produce mixtures of this type, water is pumped through a hollow body, which, at least in certain sections, has a wall consisting of porous material and fuel is pumped into the chamber on the other side of the porous wall, at a defined flow rate. As a result of the difference in pressure, the fuel penetrates the porous wall over its entire surface into the water flowing past on the other side of said porous wall, thus creating a homogeneous mixture. In the corresponding device (10, 20), at least certain sections of the hollow body (1, 21) have a porous wall (2, 22). A device of this type is preferably used in direct methanol fuel cells (DMFC), for which the operating temperature and the operating pressure can be pre-defined.
Pour assurer une régulation d'une pile à combustible, en fonction de sa puissance, il est nécessaire d'avoir recours à des mélanges de combustible présentant un débit défini. Le procédé selon l'invention, servant à produire de tels mélanges, consiste à pomper de l'eau à travers un corps creux qui présente, au moins dans certaines zones, une paroi en matériau poreux, et à introduire du combustible par pompage, à un débit défini, dans la chambre située de l'autre côté de la paroi poreuse. En raison de la différence de pression, le combustible pénètre, sur toute la surface de la paroi poreuse, dans l'écoulement d'eau traversant cette dernière, de l'autre côté de ladite paroi poreuse, et produit un mélange homogène. Dans le dispositif correspondant (10, 20), le corps creux (1, 21) présente, au moins en partie, une paroi poreuse (2, 22). Ce dispositif s'utilise de préférence dans des piles à combustible directes au méthanol (DMFC) dans lesquelles notamment la température et la pression de service peuvent être préallouées.
