A novel epoxy-functional hydroxy ester composition is produced by reacting (a) dimethylolpropionic acid and (b) an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic glycidyl ether, an epoxy novolac or a cycloaliphatic epoxy having a functionality of at least about 1.5 epoxide group per molecule. As an example, compound (1) is prepared. These compositions are very suitable for use as emulsifiers and/or reactive diluents in e.g. aqueous epoxy resin compositions which are suitable for coating purposes.
On obtient une composition d'ester hydroxy à fonctionnalité époxy en faisant réagir (a) un acide diméthylolpropionique et (b) un éther de glycidyle aliphatique ou cycloaliphatique, une novolaque époxy ou un époxy cycloaliphatique dont la fonctionnalité est d'au moins 1,5 groupes époxyde par molécule. A titre d'exemple, on prépare le composé (1). Ces compositions peuvent s'utiliser avantageusement en tant qu'émulsifiants et/ou diluants réactifs dans, par exemple, des compositions de résine époxy appropriées pour des revêtements.
