2104970 9313584 PCTABS00024 An air baffle (40) is provided to redirect cooling air flow for the stator (20) of an electric motor. The air baffle (40) is provided at the air outlet end of the motor, and extends between the stator frame (24) and the stator coils (32), so that air is forced to pass through the coils (32) to exit the motor. The baffle (40) is fixed to the coils (32), but is loosely mounted to the stator frame (24) in a floating manner so that the entire assembly is free to rotate and can have limited longitudinal motion when necessary according to the operating condition of the motor.
