A self-orienting caster for pieces of furniture, comprising a pair of wheels (25, 26), which are supported so that they can rotate about a horizontal axis (A) by a supporting body (2), which has a cylindrical recess (4) that has a vertical axis (B) and is open upward and axially offset with respect to said horizontal axis (A), and in which a pivot (40) for the caster (1) is inserted rotatably, the pivot being insertable in a receptacle of the piece of furniture in which the caster is to be fitted, further comprising a through seat (5) formed in the body (2), a tubular element (6) that is driven through the seat coaxially to the horizontal axis (A) and has two cylindrical tubular portions (7, 8) that lie on opposite sides of the body (2) in order to rotatably support the wheels (25, 26), means (10-18) for the axial and rotational locking of the tubular element (6) in the seat (5) and means (19- 22) for retaining the wheels (25, 26) on the tubular portions (7, 8).
L'invention concerne un système de roulettes à orientation automatique destiné à des meubles, comportant une paire de roulettes (25, 26) logées sur un corps support (2) de manière à tourner autour d'un axe horizontal (A). Le corps support présente une cavité cylindrique (4) d'axe vertical (B), ouverte vers le haut et décalée axialement par rapport à l'axe horizontal (A), contenant un pivot (40) destiné au système de roulettes (1), inséré rotativement, le pivot pouvant être inséré dans un logement du meuble destiné à recevoir le système de roulettes. Ledit système de roulettes comporte également un siège traversant (5) formé dans le corps (2), un élément tubulaire (6) guidé au travers du siège (5) de façon coaxiale par rapport à l'axe horizontal (A), présentant deux parties tubulaires cylindriques (7, 8) situées sur des côtés opposés du corps (2) de manière à supporter rotativement les roulettes (25, 26), des éléments (10-18) destinés au verrouillage axial et rotatif de l'élément tubulaire (6) dans le siège (5), et des éléments (19, 22) destinés à retenir les roulettes (25, 26) sur les parties tubulaires (7, 8).
