A modular display unit is formed by assembling various blank sheets of material into components that may be attached together. A first blank sheet is provided with a plurality of fold lines which may be folded to form a backboard having a number of slots. A header unit is formed from another blank sheet of material and mounted atop the assembled backboard. A plurality of tray units areformed from blank sheets of material, preferably plastic. The tray units are configured to hold a plurality of items in individual trays. The tray units may be removably mounted on the backboard into the slots. The assembled display unit may advantageously be configured to hold various numbers of items by varying the number of tray units that are mounted on the backboard.
