The invention relates to a method and a device for magnetic guidance, especially for tracking targets. The guidance is carried out in relation to the axis (1) of the beam of a monopulse antenna, by means of coding in the beam space. The coding process is carried out by appropriately modulating the signals radiated by the sum pattern ( SIGMA ) and the difference pattern ( DELTA ). The receiving elements provided in the device are able to determine the position of said device in relation to the radiation pattern of the antenna, and can therefore determine its position in relation to the axis of the antenna. This position is determined by demodulating the signals received by the receiver. The invention is particularly suitable for guiding missiles or smart munitions in any quantity, for example for tracking targets.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de guidage électromagnétique, appliqués notamment à la poursuite de cibles. Le guidage est réalisé par rapport à l'axe (1) du faisceau d'une antenne monopulse, par un codage dans l'espace du faisceau. Le codage est réalisé par une modulation appropriée des signaux rayonnés par les diagrammes somme (.SIGMA.) et différence (.DELTA.), des moyens de réception disposés dans l'engin permettant de déterminer la position de ce dernier par rapport aux diagrammes de rayonnement de l'antenne, et donc sa position par rapport à l'axe de l'antenne, la détermination de cette position étant effectuée par démodulation des signaux captés par le récepteur. L'invention s'applique notamment pour le guidage de missiles ou de munitions intelligentes en nombre quelconque, par exemple dans la poursuite de cibles.
