An apparatus is disclosed for performing high speed welding of two or more materials. The apparatus includes an outer vessel having an inner surface and a central axis. At least one inner vessel is positioned within the outer vessel and adapted to receive at least two materials to be subjected to a bonding or welding process. A drive system causes the inner vessel to rotate with respect to the outer vessel. The apparatus is designed to inhibit the formation of an oxidation layer on the materials during rotation. In one embodiment, the oxidation layer is inhibited by creating a vacuum within the inner vessel. In another embodiment, the inner vessel is filled with a gas which inhibits formation of an oxide layer on the materials. A method for high speed welding is also disclosed.
L'invention concerne un appareil permettant de souder à une vitesse élevée plusieurs matériaux. Cet appareil comprend un contenant externe présentant une surface interne et un axe central. Au moins un contenant interne est disposé dans ce contenant externe et est conçu pour loger au moins deux matériaux destinés à subir un processus de collage ou de soudage. Un système d'entraînement anime le contenant interne d'un mouvement de rotation par rapport au contenant externe. L'appareil est conçu pour empêcher la formation d'une couche d'oxydation sur les matériaux aux cours de la rotation. Dans un mode de réalisation de la présente invention, la formation d'une couche d'oxydation est évitée par création d'un vide dans le contenant interne. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, ce contenant interne est rempli d'un gaz inhibant la formation d'une couche d'oxyde sur les matériaux. L'invention se rapporte en outre à un procédé de soudage à vitesse élevée.
