An apparatus (10) and method for generating a chosen, relatively uniform size of particles having a dry-to-the-touch feel and a pleasant odor from chipped slash or other vegetative material (28) is described. When pine sap and/or other liquids are present in the starting materials, the teachings of the present invention permit the generation of particulates into which such substances are substantially uniformly absorbed. The process of the present invention has been successfully applied to chipped, live trees, dried tree materials, branches, needles, pine cones, hay, flowers, grass, berries, and shrubs.
La présente invention concerne un appareil (10) et un procédé permettant de générer des particules de taille choisie et relativement uniforme qui présentent une sensation sèche au toucher et un parfum agréable provenant de copeaux ou d'autres matières végétales (28). Lorsque de la sève de pin et/ou d'autres liquides se trouvent dans des matières initiales, la présente invention permet de générer des particules qui absorbent de manière sensiblement uniforme de telles substances. Le procédé de la présente invention a été appliqué avec succès sur des copeaux, des arbres vivants, de la matière en bois sec, des branches, des aiguilles, des cônes de pin, du foin, des fleurs, de l'herbe, des baies et des arbustes.
