A metal frame essentially composed of identically shaped sections. A metal section is obtained by folding a strip-shaped metal sheet in such a way as to define a first portion (14) having a substantially square or rectangular cross-section and a second portion (16) having an L-shaped cross-section with a gap being formed between one edge (18) of the metal sheet and a fold (19) marking the junction point between said first and second portions. A slit (20) is formed to allow panel-mounting devices to be inserted if desired. Said frame can be used to produce metal cabinets for industrial electrical or electronic equipment.

Selon l'invention, le profilé métallique est obtenu par pliages d'une feuille métallique en forme de bande, de façon à définir une première partie (14) à section sensiblement carrée ou rectangulaire et une seconde partie (16) à section en L et un espace est ménagé entre un bord (18) de la feuille métallique et un pliage (19) marquant la limite entre lesdites première et seconde parties de façon à définir une fente (20) permettant éventuellement l'insertion de moyens de montage d'un panneau. Application à la fabrication d'armoires métalliques pour équipements électriques ou électroniques industriels.
