The invention relates to a miniture circuit breaker with a latch for continuously opening and closing a contact point (12, 13) with a contact lever (15) on which the moving contact member (13) is moulded on, with a toggle lever gear with a link (23) connected to a switching handle (25) and a coupling element (18), the coupling element (18) connecting the link (23) with the contact lever (15), which toggle lever gear can be brought from a first stable position (switched-on position, Figure 2) into a second stable position via a dead-centre position by means of a tripping mechanism, the contact lever (15) being rotated and the contact point (12, 13) being permanently opened. A compression spring (33, 34) is provided which acts on the link (23) and the force (F1) of which acts approximately in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the link (23) in the switched-off position, and thus at the beginning of the switching-on process, and transversely thereto in the switched-on position.
