A solvent extraction composition for the recovery of metals, particularly copper and iron, from leach solutions, comprises one or more orthohydroxyarylaldoximes and/or one or more orthohydroxyarylketoximes, and one or more selectivity modifiers consisting of phosphinic and/or phosphonic acids, and salts and esters therefore and optionally one or more equilibrium modifiers is provided. The solvent extractant formulation enables to achieve controlled respectively desired metal transfer ratio's.

L~invention concerne une composition d~extraction par solvant pour la récupération de métaux, en particulier le cuivre et le fer, dans des solutions de lixivation, comprenant un ou plusieurs orthohydroxyarylaldoximes et/ou un ou plusieurs orthohydroxyarylcétoximes, et un ou plusieurs modificateurs de sélectivité consistant en des acides phosphiniques et/ou phosphoniques, ainsi que leurs sels et leurs esters, et éventuellement un ou plusieurs modificateurs d~équilibre. La formulation du solvant d~extraction permet de contrôler les rapports de transferts respectifs des métaux voulus.
