The pallet container (1) for transporting and storing liquids, which is used as a single-use or multi-use container, has as its main structural element a replaceable inner container (2) of plastic, that has a filler (3) that can be closed off by a screw cap (4), and an outlet (5) with a removable spigot (6) as well as a drain base (7). An outer casing in the form of a mesh (8) and a pallet (11) in the form of a flat base pan (12) of sheet metal are used to accommodate the inner container (2). An upper frame (13) stiffens the outer casing (8) and protects the inner container (2). The outlet area (14) of the base pan (12) beneath the removal spigot (16) is covered by a moulded part (20) of plastic that is resistant to aggressive liquids, and this protects the sheet metal of the base pan (12) against corrosion caused by liquid that drips when being removed from the inner container (2), or caused by liquid that drips down from a leaky removal spigot (6), when aggressive liquids are being transported and stored with or in the pallet container (1).
