ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In order to increase the resistance against breaking, the proposed blacktop contains metallic fibers, for instance steel fibers, of finite length. The fibers can be admixed during the production of the hot mix, to the mixture of solid particles and the bituminous bonding agent. It is also possible to admix the fibers to the solid particles prior to the inter- mixing thereof with the bonding agent. During the compacting of the hot mix to form the blacktop, the metallic fibers are bent and thus cling to the particles of the solid particle portion and/or intermesh with each other in the fashion of a fleece of randomly oriented fibers.
