A causal relationship between two events occurs when a first event meaningfully precedes a second event and is identified by a causality module. The causality module analyzes multiple events to determine whether the events are causally related. Reductions in both required storage space and search operations are obtained by tracing interrelated causal chains of events. Further improvement is achieved by efficient filtered causal graph edge detection, which derives an inserted event's maximal predecessor set and minimal successor set.

Selon l'invention, une relation causale entre deux événements se produit lorsqu'un premier événement précède significativement un second événement et elle est identifiée par un module de causalité. Ce dernier permet d'analyser plusieurs événements de manière à déterminer si les événements sont liés causalement. Des diminutions de l'espace de mémoire requis et des opérations de recherche sont obtenues par traçage de chaînes causales interdépendantes d'événements. Une autre amélioration est obtenue par détection de bord de graphe causal filtré efficacement, qui dérive un ensemble précédent maximal d'événement introduit et un ensemble suivant minimal.
