A laryngoscope comprises a blade having a surface (17) for engaging the tongue of a patient by means of an operating handle (13) manipulated by an operator in which the operating handle (13) lies out of the plane normal to the tongue-contacting surface (17) of the blade. The laryngoscope substantially avoids the likelihood of a load acting on the patient's upper teeth.

L'invention concerne un laryngoscope comprenant une lame présentant une surface (17) destinée à entrer en contact avec la langue d'un patient par un manche opérationnel (13) manipulé par un utilisateur. Le manche (13) ne se trouve pas sur le plan normal de la surface (17) de la lame en contact avec la langue. Ce laryngoscope permet ainsi d'éviter le risque qu'une pression trop importante soit exercée sur les dents supérieures du patient.
