A telephone display system (10) for communicating data via a service circuit node (11) connected to a PSTN (13) for presentation by a visual display (26) connected to an Analog Display Service Interface (ADSI)-compatible telephone (14). In response to a service selection signal carried by an incoming telephoneline (21), the service circuit node (11) generates information signals containing textual information and telephone instructions. The service circuit node (11) also connects the incoming telephone line (21) to an adjunct processor (12) and sendsthe information signals to the adjunct processor (12). In response, the adjunctprocessor (12) modulates a carrier in accordance with the digital information signals and transmits the resulting analog information data over the telephone line (21). If the telephone instructions include an initial instruction for causing the ADSI-compatible telephone to enter a data mode, the adjunct processor also converts the digital initial instruction into an analog format for transmission over the telephone line. The visual display (26) enters the data mode and displays the textual information.
Système d'affichage téléphonique (10) permettant de communiquer des données par l'intermédiaire d'un noeud (11) de circuit de service connecté à un réseau téléphonique public commuté (13) afin qu'elles soient présentées par un dispositif d'affichage visuel (26) connecté à un téléphone (14) compatible avec une interface de service à affichage analogique (ADSI). En réponse à un signal de sélection de service transporté par une ligne téléphonique d'arrivée (21), le noeud (11) de circuit de service génère des signaux d'information contenant des informations textuelles ainsi que des instructions téléphoniques. Le noeud (11) de circuit de service connecte également la ligne téléphonique d'arrivée (21) à un processeur complémentaire (12) et transmet les signaux d'information à ce dernier (12). En réponse, le processeur complémentaire (12) module un porteur en fonction des signaux d'information numériques et transmet les données analogiques obtenues sur la ligne téléphonique (21). Si les instructions téléphoniques comprennent une instruction initiale permettant au téléphone compatible ADSI d'entrer en mode de transmission de données, le processeur complémentaire convertit également l'instruction numérique initiale en un format analogique afin de la transmettre sur la ligne téléphonique. Le dispositif d'affichage visuel (26) entre en mode de transmission de données et affiche les informations textuelles.
