ABSTRACT A method for filtering coarse and fine debris from an induced fluid stream and a mobile apparatus for carrying out the method are described. In the method, and induced fluid stream is caused to be rotated through at least 90° of rotation so that the heaviest debris settles out. Next, the fluid stream is passed through a cyclone separator to separate out substantially the remainder of the coarse debris. The fluid flow is then drawn through at least one fine filtering stage. All of the filter parts of the apparatus are easily accessible for cleaning and replacing.
