A ureteral stent (100) is configured for improved patient comfort and aftercare. The stent can have one or more of the following features: a distal portion (102) with a somewhat flattened, noncircular cross-section that provides reduced irritation and elimination of urine reflux; a proximal portion (106) with a helical coil shape that allows self-anchoring of the stent below the kidney; and a portion along the body (104) of the stent having a coil shape that allows self-adjustment of the stent with ureteral movement.

L'invention concerne un stent urétéral conçu pour le confort amélioré du patient et pour la post-cure. Le stent peut comprendre une ou plusieurs des caractéristiques suivantes: une partie distale munie d'une section transversale non circulaire quelque peu aplatie réduisant l'irritation et éliminant les reflux d'urine; une partie proximale en forme de bobine hélicoïdale permettant l'auto-fixation du stent au-dessous des reins; et une partie le long du corps du stent possédant une forme de bobine permettant l'auto-ajustage du stent avec le mouvement urétéral.
