A powdered material metering apparatus includes a container adapted to hold powdered material and a ramp having a first end and a second end. The first end of the ramp communicates with the container. A continuous loop metering chain is supported by the ramp. The metering chain has a plurality of links each of which has an aperture. A motor drives the metering chain. The chain passes through powdered material in the container to the first end of the ramp and along the ramp with powdered material trapped in each aperture of each link of the metering chain being delivered to the second end of the ramp.
