Methods and apparatus for content delivery to a mobile device. A method is provided for receiving content in a wireless data network. The method includes starting a content download over a first connection that supports a first data rate, wherein the content has a selected quality level. The method also includes establishing a second connection that supports a second data rate, and determining that the second data rate is lower than the first data rate. The method also includes waiting to establish a third connection that supports a data rate greater than the second data rate, and continuing the content download using the third connection.
La présente invention concerne des procédés et un appareil permettant la diffusion de contenu sur un dispositif mobile. Le procédé décrit dans cette invention consiste à recevoir un contenu dans un réseau de transmission de données sans fil. Le procédé consiste à démarrer un téléchargement d'un contenu par l'intermédiaire d'une première connexion pouvant accepter un premier débit binaire, le contenu présentant un niveau de qualité sélectionné. Le procédé décrit dans cette invention consiste également à établir une seconde connexion pouvant accepter un second débit binaire, puis à déterminer que le second débit binaire est inférieur au premier débit binaire. Le procédé consiste également à attendre pour établir une troisième connexion pouvant accepter un débit binaire plus important que le second débit binaire, puis à poursuivre le téléchargement du contenu au moyen de la troisième connexion.
