A computing interface system includes a mouse 16 with a keypad 40, and a computer display 12 that displays a group of icons that have a one-to-one correspondence to the keys 42 composing the mouse's keypad 40. The icons have the same relativepositioning as the keys 42 composing the mouse's keypad 40. This arrangement permits the user to enter digits into the computer 10 without repeatedly shifting his or her gaze back and forth between the keypad 42 and display 12. Fig. 2
