Description

The invention relates to a method for producing polyamides by reacting starting monomers, selected from dicar-boxylic acids and diamines or salts of the dicarboxylic acids an diamines, amino acids, aminonitriles, lactams and mixtures the-reof, optionally while adding water and/or functionalizing compounds that are capable of binding to carboxylic groups or amino groups. The method according to the invention is characterized in that the reaction is carried out in an ionic liquid as the solvent.
