The invention concerns an electrical cooking appliance, in particular a deep fryer, a cooker, or a heating food processor, comprising a housing (2) removably mounted on a power supply base (1), a container (3) being provided in the housing (2), the container (3) having a side wall (31) extending spaced apart from the outer side wall (20) of the housing (2), an annular upper portion (21) of the housing (2) connecting the vat (3) to the outer side wall (20), heating means (34) integral with the container (3) being electrically connected to the power supply base (1) when the housing (2) is positioned on the power supply base (1). The invention is characterized in that the heating means (34) consist of at least one sealed heating element, and the housing (2) has at least one lower opening (29) communicating the heating means (34) with the outside part of the housing (2).
