A plasma discharge display device (10) comprises a generally columnar chamber with a pair of electrodes (13, 14) tangentially located at opposite ends of the chamber for ionizing gas in the chamber. The chamber comprises a cylindrical portion (16) interconnected with a generally spherical portion (15). The configuration of the chamber generates an active (but not hyperactive) plasma discharge that is continuous, has a full motion and with minimal noise without the need of additional adulterants for instability.

L'invention porte sur un dispositif (10) d'affichage à décharge par plasma, qui comprend généralement une chambre colonnaire munie d'une paire d'électrodes (13, 14) situées tangentiellement à des extrémités opposées de la chambre pour ioniser le gaz dans la chambre. La chambre comprend une partie cylindrique (16) interconnectée à une partie généralement sphérique (15). La configuration de la chambre génère une décharge de plasma active (mais pas hyperactive) qui est continue, plein mouvement et émet un bruit minimal, sans nécessité d'ajouter des adultérants pour l'instabilité.
