An ambidextrous locking clamp system for providing a user the ability to alter the configuration of a hand operated device allowing a right or left handed user to operate the device. The device has a hingedly connected first and second elongated member each with a finger engaging member, a working head, and an indicator for identifying if the clamp is setup for left or right handed operation. At least two inter-engaging latching members are removably attachable to the first and the second elongated members. The latching members are symmetrical, interchangeable, and reversible, allowing a user to change the configuration of the ambidextrous device. The latching members can be retained to the elongated members by a rotatably lever, a removable retaining cap, or a removable retaining pin. Additionally, the latching members can be incorporated into removable finger engaging members, thereby allowing the entire finger engaging member and latching member to be removed, interchanged or reversed.
La présente invention concerne un système de serrage à blocage ambidextre permettant à un utilisateur de modifier la configuration d~un dispositif actionné manuellement pour que ledit dispositif puisse être actionné par un utilisateur droitier ou gaucher. Le dispositif a un premier organe et un deuxième organe allongés et raccordés de façon articulée, chacun avec un organe de prise avec les doigts, une tête opérationnelle,et un indicateur pour identifier si la pince est configurée pour un fonctionnement à main gauche ou droite. Au moins deux organes de blocage venant en prise l~un avec l~autre peuvent être fixés de façon amovible au premier organe et au deuxième organe allongés. Les organes de blocage sont symétriques, interchangeables et réversibles, ce qui permet à un utilisateur de changer la configuration du dispositif ambidextre. Les organes de blocage peuvent être retenus aux organes allongés par un levier rotatif, un couvercle de retenue amovible, ou une goupille de retenue amovible. Qui plus est, les organes de blocage peuvent être intégrés dans des organes amovibles venant en prise avec les doigts, ce qui permet à l~organe entier de prise avec les doigts et à l~organe de blocage d~être retirés, interchangés ou inversés.
