A method of cast molding an intraocular implant from two or more dissimilar materials using disposable molds. The subject cast molding method is particularly useful in the production of intraocular lenses manufactured from dissimilar materials. It is desirable to produce introacular lenses from dissimilar materials in order to optimize the optical characteristics of the intraocular lens optic portion and to optimize stability and flexibility characteristics of the intraocular lens haptic elements.

L'invention concerne une méthode de moulage par coulée d'un implant intraoculaire à partir de deux ou plusieurs matériaux de nature différente au moyen de moules jetables. Ladite méthode de moulage par coulée est particulièrement utile dans la production de lentilles intraoculaires fabriquées à partir de matériaux de nature différente. Il est souhaitable de produire des lentilles intraoculaires à partir de matériaux de nature différente afin d'optimiser les caractéristiques optiques de la partie optique des lentilles intraoculaires et d'optimiser la stabilité et la flexibilité des éléments haptiques des lentilles intraoculaires.
