A system is provided for milling a window in a casing of a borehole formed in an earth formation. The system comprises a milling tool for milling said window, a guiding device for guiding the milling tool along a selected path within the casing during milling said window, the guiding device having means for fixedly arranging the guiding device within the casing. The guiding device is provided with thrust means for thrusting the milling tool along the selected path during milling the window.
L'invention concerne un système permettant de former par fraisage une fenêtre dans le tubage d'un trou de forage pratiqué dans une formation géologique. Ce système comporte un appareil de fraisage servant à former par fraisage ladite fenêtre. Ce système comporte également un dispositif de guidage servant à guider l'appareil de fraisage le long d'un trajet choisi à l'intérieur du tubage pendant le fraisage de ladite fenêtre. Ce dispositif de guidage est pourvu d'un organe permettant de le fixer à l'intérieur du tubage. Ce dispositif de guidage est également pourvu d'un organe de propulsion servant à propulser l'appareil de fraisage le long du trajet choisi pendant le fraisage de ladite fenêtre.
