Dural substitutes are provided, which include collagen treated and/or prepared to be physiologically compatible and substantially free of active viruses and prions. Suitable forms for the dural substitutes include a sponge, a film, a non-woven matrix, a felt or a combination of at least two of the foregoing forms. Also provided are a method for preparing dural substitutes and a method for promoting meningeal tissue growth.
Cette invention se rapporte à des produits de substitution duraux comportant du collagène traité et/ou préparé pour être physiologiquement compatible et ne contenant sensiblement aucun virus ou prion actif. Ces produits de substitution duraux peuvent se présenter sous la forme d'une éponge, d'un film, d'une matrice non tissée, d'un feutre ou comme une combinaison d'au moins deux de ces formes. L'invention se rapporte également à une méthode de préparation de produits de substitution duraux et à une méthode visant à favoriser la croissance de tissu méningé.
