A hybrid trailer for use on road and on rails, the hybrid trailer being transferable between a roadworthy configuration and a railworthy configuration. The hybrid trailer has a platform having a rear portion, a low profile middle portion and a front portion. The front portion is adapted to be coupler to a motor vehicle and is displaceable between a raised position and a lowered loading position. The rear portion has at a set of road wheels and a set of track wheels attached thereunder. The road wheels and the track wheels are vertically displaceable relative to one another between retracted and extended positions.
