A rotary piston flowmeter for measuring liquid media with a small flow rate comprises a rotary piston means having two coupled, rotating pistons and a piston articulation. Precise and reliable measurement of flow rate is achievedwith the flowmeter, in which movement of the piston articulation is monitored byan electromagnetic sensor located in the casing and positioned in such a way that it is associated with a range of movement of the piston articulation.
