The present invention features human epidermal receptor (HER) antagonists. These antagonists are polypeptide variants of ligands of HER. The HER ligand polypeptide variants of the invention possess Pan-HER antagonistic properties and can inhibit at least one HER-mediated biological activity of one or more HER subtypes, such as inhibition of the receptor's kinase activation activity and subsequently, cell proliferation. Such polypeptide variants, and nucleic acids encoding these polypeptide variants can be used therapeutically in situations in which inhibition of HER activity is indicated.
L'invention concerne des antagonistes du récepteur épidermique humain (HER). Ces antagonistes sont des variantes polypeptidiques de ligands du HER. Les variantes polypeptidiques de ligands du HER possèdent des propriétés antagonistes Pan-HER et peuvent inhiber au moins une activité biologique induite par HER d'un ou de plusieurs sous-types de HER, telle que l'inhibition de l'activité d'activation des kinases du récepteur et, ultérieurement, de la prolifération cellulaire. Ces variantes polypeptidiques et les acides nucléiques codant pour celles-ci peuvent être utilisés à des fins thérapeutiques, dans des situations où l'inhibition de l'activité de HER est indiquée.
