2097427 9307067 PCTABS00021 A pallet is disclosed having a first rectangular sheet of stiff, foldable material having a central portion and opposed side edge portions. The side edge portions each are folded into a plurality of panels to form rectangular first and second channel members (18) beneath the central portion. The outermost panels (40) of the sheet include transverse slits (54) such that each of the outermost panels has at least one first tab (55) and at least one second tab. The central portion has a plurality of first slots (48) located in two spaced rows to receive the first tabs, the first tabs of each outer panel are inserted through the slots and folded to overlay a portion of the central portion top surface of the first sheet and being secured thereto. The second tabs of each outermost panel are folded to underlay the bottom surface of the central portion and are secured thereto. A second sheet (56) is folded to form a third rectangular channel member (22) with the outermost panels being provided with transverse slits to provide a plurality of third tabs. Slots (50) located between the two rows of slots receive the third tabs (82) which are inserted therethrough and the third tabs are folded to overlay a portion of the central portion of the first sheet and are secured thereto.
