A new composition and method for treating types of depression, obsessiveness, depression with obsessiveness, depression with anxiety, mania, and manic depression, depression with seizures, and combinations of these illnesses is claimed comprising administering to a patient exhibiting said illness or illnesses a pharmacologically effective dose of an opioid antagonist, and a pharmacologically effective dose of at least one drug compound selected from the group consisting of a tricyclic antidepressant, and a-typical antidepressant, and lithium. The patient may also, at the same time, be undergoing treatment with a benzodiazepine for anxiety.
L'invention concerne une nouvelle composition et un nouveau procédé servant à traiter des types de dépression, d'obsession, de dépression avec obsession, de dépression avec anxiété, de manie, et de dépression maniaque, ainsi que de dépression avec crises, et des combinaisons de ces états. Ce procédé consiste à administrer à un patient souffrant de cette maladie ou ces maladies une dose pharmacologiquement efficace d'un antagoniste opioïde, et une dose pharmacologiquement efficace d'au moins un composé de médicaments sélectionné parmi le groupe constitué par un antidépresseur tricyclique, un antidépresseur de type a, et par le lithium.
