Templates-fixed .beta.-hairpin peptidomimetics of the general formulae (I), wherein Z is a chain of 11 .alpha.-amino acid residues which, depending on their positions in the chain (counted starting from the N-terminal amino acid) are Gly, or Pro, or Pro(4NHCOPhe), or of certain types which , as the remaining symbols in the above formula, are defined in the description and the claims, and salts thereof, have the property to inhibit proteases, in particular serine proteases, especially Cathepsin G or Elastase or Tryptase. These .beta.-hairpin peptidomimetics can be manufactured by processes which are based on a mixed solid- and solution phase synthetic strategy.

L~invention concerne des peptidomimétiques en épingle à cheveux .beta. fixés sur matrice répondant aux formules générales (I), dans lesquelles Z est une chaîne de 11 résidus acides .alpha.-aminés, lesquels, en fonction de leur position dans la chaîne (en comptant à partir de l~acide aminé N-terminal) sont Gly, ou Pro, ou Pro(4NHCOPhe), ou sont de certains types lesquels, de même que les autres symboles de la formule ci-dessus, sont définis dans la description et les revendications ; ainsi que leurs sels. Lesdits peptidomimétiques, ont la propriété d~inhiber les protéases, en particulier de type sérine, particulièrement la Cathépsine G ou l~Elastase ou la Tryptase. Ces peptidomimétiques en épingle à cheveux .beta. peuvent être préparés via des procédés utilisant une stratégie de synthèse mixte en phase solide et en solution.
